Après la première moitié, on est véritablement en droit de s'attendre à un dessin-animé révolutionnaire qui fait de l'absurde et du silence les deux moteurs d'une entreprise burlesquement charmante. Par contre, le surplus d'action, prévisible sans être cliché, finit par prendre le dessus sur la couleur excessivement agréable des personnages. Il s'agit assurément d'un des meilleurs dessin-animés que j'ai vu; son originalité le démarque grandement des autres du genre.

interesting abd very unique. the animation was so different from any other animation that i had seen. i was so stupid because i didnt realize that it was the little boy all grown up who was the bicyclist.

La première fois que j'ai vu ce film, j'ai pas vraiment aimé ce film... Je le trouvais trop, trop. Dans le sens qu'il me semblait prétencieux. J'ai réécouté et comme n'importe quoi j'ai pu apprécier le film, son humour mais surtout son histoire. Chialer et écouteur un film ça n'aide pas a comprendre l'histoire.. c'est un autre défaut que j'ai.

Original and funt to watch, adding some nice black humour, and a satire about both american and french stereotypes. This a very unique film for all the right reasons. Best animated dog i have seen in ages.

MCT:June 13, 2008i've wanted to see this film for quite some time. i really didn't expect what i got. i thought there would have been more talking. i 'm kind of glad though...when i think about it, cheesy voice-overs would have made this film not work. the music and the wonderful animation made it something really special. definitly would not reccomend it to anyone who was into stuff like shrek and toy story. because it's certainly not for everybody.

Top notch animation, extremelly well-defined characters, a strange plot, amazing settings and almost no dialogue at all make of Les Triplettes de Belleville an animated modern pasterpiece that any person should see and analyze.

Weird, funny and beguiling. You will fall in love with this film! It is French but with virtually no spoken dialog, awesome soundtrack -- it all just SINGS. Really different animation-- if you are used to watching anime or American animation, this film will be deliciously different. If you hate animation, you may still love it. Sly and then slapstick then sophisticated: fits no tidy niche.

Very interesting, beautiful style of animation. I love some of the subtle background things about stereotypes and such. Interesting that it was nearly silent and didn't detract from its watchability.

bizarre French animation film with no meaningful dialogue to speak of. the film more than compensates with its unique almost caricature-style animation, charming subtle humour, great music, and a clever, thought-provoking, yet familiar story. funny, grotesque, and thoroughly delightful.
